Roberta Eloise “Bobbie” Smith Faris 1944-2007 Roberta Eloise “Bobbie” Smith Faris of Grayson, Ky., went to be with her heavenly Father on March 14, 2007, following a short illness. Bobbie was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Grayson, the daughter of the late Charles and Garnet Blankenship Smith. She was retired from Smith Barney Inc. and was a member of Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Smith of Louisville, Ky.; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Smith of Grayson. Bobbie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, John Faris of Grayson; a daughter, June Elizabeth (Tee) Grubb of Grayson; a grandson, Will Grubb of Grayson; a granddaughter, Whitney (Justin) King of Havelock, N.C.; a sister, Leda Smith of Hurricane, W.Va.; a brother, Charles J. Smith of Grayson; a sister-in-law, Patricia Smith of Louisville; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends who will mourn her passing and celebrate her life in memory. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Harry Thacker and Joe Ed Rice, ministers. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
