Delores “Dee” Sharp Dick - 1926-2006

Delores “Dee” Sharp Dick, 80, of Raceland, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at her residence.

Dee was born June 15, 1926, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Earl and Maysie Hall Sharp. 
She also was preceded in death by her first husband, John C. May; her second husband, Tommy Dick; and a daughter, Sherry Wymer.

She was an active member of Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church. In the late 1960s and ’70s, she owned and operated Dee’s Chatterbox, 
a restaurant on 16th Street and Greenup Avenue in Ashland, Ky. She also proudly served as president of Unity Square Resident Council in Ashland 
during the years she lived there.

Surviving are a daughter, Sheila Songer of Raceland; four sons, John (Sue) May of Pine Bluff, Ark., Ronnie May of Sophia, W.Va., 
Terry (Carol) May of Floral City, Fla., and Chuck (Linda) May of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Jeanine Kamber of Jeffersonville, Ky., 
Carolyn (Jim) Wheatley of Catlettsburg, Ky., Juanita Gullett of Flatwoods, Ky., and Jenny (Bill) Fannin of Worthington, Ky.; 
a brother, Donald (Lisa) Sharp of Louisville, Ky.; 20 grandchildren, Shelly Little, Tina Hogsten, Kenny May, Chad May, Sherry Artrip, 
John May, Melissa Pearson, Steve Wymer, Todd May, Terry May, Crystal May, Anthony May, Josh May, Jeremy May, Noah May, Nikki May, 
Cody May, Mark Howard, Preston Howard and Gary Howard; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Jack Edwards and the Rev. Danny Brown. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
