JONESBORO - Jay Sexton, 91, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday in Twin City Health Care Center, Gas City. 

He was born in Olive Hill, Ky. to John and Daisy (Henderson) Sexton and they preceded him in death. He married Jewel (Fultz) on December 12, 1936 and she survives. He was a member of the American Legion Post #95 Jonesboro. He loved to hunt, fish and woodworking. He made birdhouses and loved to watch birds. He was an army veteran and was in the 3 C-camp in the army. He also served with Rev. Castle in ministerial work at the old country church. He also attended Water Street Baptist Church, Jonesboro. 

Survivors include his wife, Jewel, Jonesboro; children, Earl (Janice) Sexton, Upland; Roger (Rose) Sexton, Jonesboro; and Connie (Bob) McGlone, Ala.; brothers, David (Shirley) Sexton , Ohio; and Clyde Sexton. 

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathryn Sexton; Lena Froman; and Mary Bontrager; one brother, Edward Sexton; three half brothers, Kelse, Jimmy and George Sexton; and two half sisters, Emily and Gracie Logan. 

Services are Friday, July 14, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St. Gas City with Pastor David Morris officiating. Burial will take place in Jefferson Cemetery with military rites performed by the Grant County Honor Guard. 

Visitation is Friday, July 14, 2006 from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
