Joyce Nichols - 1936-2007

Mrs. Joyce Perry Nichols, 71, of Madison, Ga., formerly of Olive Hill, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, Nov. 26, 2007, 
in Hospice Care Center in Madison.

Mrs. Nichols was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Carter County, Ky., and was a daughter of Rosa Perry Perry of Olive Hill and the late Dan Perry.

She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gene Case.

Joyce attended Berea College in Berea, Ky., and received her bachelor’s degree from Wright State University in 1972. 
She lived in Dayton, Ohio, for 27 years, eventually moving to Morrow, Ga., in 1982. Upon retiring from Clayton College and State University, 
she resided in Madison but spent much of her time with her family and friends in Olive Hill, where she remained active with the 
Olive Hill High School Class of 1954. Joyce was a devoted member of First Christian Church of Olive Hill.

In addition to her beloved mother, Rosa Perry, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dennis Nichols; a son, Dennis K. Nichols of Versailles, Ky.; 
a daughter and son-in-law, Holly Rose and Chuck Jarrell of Madison; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Idabelle Case of Olive Hill, 
Willa Jean and Rollan Shafer of Winchester, Ky., and Phyllis Perry of Florence, Ky.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, 
William “Bill” and Carolyn Perry and Dan and Von Perry, all of Olive Hill; and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews, 
extended family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at First Christian Church in Olive Hill by Brother David Gee and Brother Tim Wagoner. 
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday and until services Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill.
