Kentucky GenWeb projectTHE MANSFIELD NEWS JOURNAL (Mansfield, Ohio) Monday, January 11, 1971 Ernest A. Payton, age 69, of 507 King Street died Saturday at the Mansfield General Hospital. Mr. Payton was born Nov. 24, 1901 at West Liberty, Kentucky, living here for the past 44 years. Surviving are his wife, Nannie Felty Payton, one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Geraldine) Mabry, four grandchildren, one brother, George Wesley Payton, three sisters, Mrs. Virgie Perry, Mrs. Roy Foster and Mrs. Annie Caldwell. The body is at the Wappner Funeral Home, where services will be held Tuesday morning at ten o’clock in charge of his pastor, Rev. Walter Orr. Following the services Mr. Payton will be taken to the Stucky Funeral Home, Morehead, Kentucky where friends may call Tuesday evening. Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Clay Cemetery, Carter County, Kentucky.
