Dora Conley - 1939-2007

Dora Parsons Conley, 68, of Ashland, Ky., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Conley was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Carter County, Ky., the daughter of the late Hurst and Jane Grizzell Parsons. 
She was the loving wife of Kenneth L. Conley, who preceded in 1998, and devoted mother to Peggy (Carl) Ball, Beverly Conley, 
Tammy Fugett and Joyce (Jason) Gipson, all of Ashland. 

Also surviving are two brothers, Joel (Fran) Parsons of Ashland and James (Becky) Parsons of Palmetto, Fla.; 
five sisters, Louise (Dan) Green of Sarasota, Fla., Joyce Waugh of Palmetto, Margie (Mike) Caudill of Flatwoods, Ky., 
Leava (Bruce) Pickard of Ashland and Jill (Roger) Reynolds of Catlettsburg, Ky.; four grandchildren, Erick, Carlena, 
Libby and Danny; two precious great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ethan; and a very special four-legged companion, “Do.”

As well as her parents and husband, Dora was preceded by a son, Kenneth L. Conley II; 
three brothers, David Parsons, Jack Parsons and Ricky Parsons; a sister, Gerri Boggs; and a grandchild, Perry David.

She was a much sought after party hostess for many years at the Henry Clay Hotel Blue Room in Ashland, serving all with a smile, 
and later was an interior decorator at The Curtain Store in Ashland. Dora was very crafty and good with her hands, 
but she was even better with matters of the heart, helping all who needed her. She loved her family and they loved her. 
Dora was a member of Iowa Street Chapel.

Funeral services for Dora Parsons Conley will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. 
The Rev. Bruce Pickard will offer words of comfort and reassurance. Committal will be in Dixon Cemetery in Ashland. 

Pallbearers will be Jason Gipson, Carl Ball, Jesse Parsons, J.D. Sipps, Erick Fugett and Bill Boggs.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
