Violet Mae Parish Fannin - 1918-2007

Mrs. Violet Mae Parish Fannin, 88, of Olive Hill, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at her residence.

Mrs. Fannin was born May 2, 1918, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Henry and Ilena Lawhun Parish.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ollnie Fannin; a son, Richard Fannin; 
a granddaughter, Carlon Sue Burge; and a great-granddaughter, Madeline Fannin.

Violet was a member of First Christian Church of Olive Hill, a homemaker and a retired seamstress. 
She graduated from Christian Normal Institute in Grayson, Ky., in 1937.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Gene and Tammy Fannin of Vinton, Va.; 
six daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Carl Burge, Dorothy and Paul Webb, Phyllis and David Tabor, Shirlene and Vernon Messer, 
Frances and Jim Webb and Debbie and Keith Walker, all of Olive Hill; nine grandsons, Terrell Webb and wife Kelly, Tim Burge, 
Dwain Messer and wife Harriet, Mike Tabor and wife Kim, Mark Messer and wife Laura Beth, Jason Fannin and wife Sheri, 
Dennie Webb and wife Sarah-Ann, Jeremy Webb and wife Stephanie and Bradley Walker; seven granddaughters, Joy Rayburn and husband David, 
Cande Campbell and husband Jerry, Sandy Savage, Karen Valandingham and husband Leo, Crystal Neal and husband Kelly, 
Michelle Finch and husband Ryan and Clerrinda Walker; 11 great-grandsons, Josh Burge, Taylor Webb, Aaron Rayburn, Tabor Messer, 
Mason Campbell, Kellen Tabor, Logan Neal, Tyson Webb, Alex Messer, Hagan Webb and Levi Messer; six great-granddaughters, 
Lauren Webb, Brandi Rayburn, Darby Campbell, Jenna Finch, Laura Kate Neal and Ella Grace Fannin; and a sister, Ilet Dailey of Olive Hill.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at First Christian Church in Olive Hill by Brother Tim Waggoner 
and Brother Dave Shanklin. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery on Route 2, Olive Hill.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill and an hour before services at the church.

Terrell Webb, Tim Burge, Dwain Messer, Michael Tabor, Mark Messer, Jason Fannin, Dennie Webb, Jeremy Webb and Bradley Walker will be pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Claire Home Care and Hospice, 222 Medical Circle Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
