William Paul McNeil 

1917-2004 

William Paul McNeil, widower of Emma Lee Robinson McNeil, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. He was 86 years of age. 
Paul was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Lawrence County, Ky., a son of the late William Perry and Emily Boggs McNeil. 
Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Emma Lee Robinson McNeil, whom he married on May 6, 1937. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard McNeil, Roscoe McNeil and Clarence McNeil; one sister, Belma McNeil; one brother-in-law, Russell Robinson; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Wilkerson. 
Paul was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a telecommunications engineer. He retired in 1983 from the Open Hearth Department of Armco Steel Corp. and was a former union representative with Steelworkers Local 1875. He was a member of the SOAR organization of Armco Steel, American Legion Clarence Fields Post 76 and Ashland VFW, and a faithful member of the Russell McDonald's Breakfast Club. 
He is survived by one daughter, Paulette Rose, an employee of First National Bank of Grayson who resides in Ashland; one brother, Rock McNeil of Benton, Tenn.; and two sisters, Edna Williams of Hillard, Ohio, and Pauline Wellman of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, William Tex "C.T." Rose and his wife, Cynthia, of Winchester, Ky., and Thomas "Tommy" R. Rose of Grayson, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Taylir Lee Rose and William Tanner Rose, both of Winchester; two special brothers-in-law, Charles Wilkerson and Berl (Ruby) Robinson, both of Frankfort, Ky.; and a very good friend, Beatrice Wells of Blaine, Ky. 
Funeral services to honor Mr. McNeil will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2004, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by the Rev. McKinley Dean and the Rev. Amos Dixon. Burial will be in Kirby Flats Cemetery. 
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before services on Monday at the funeral home. 
Pallbearers will be Bill Williams, Bill Potter, Curt Kazee, Tyke Staten, Kenny Holbrook and Charles Allen Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Berl Robinson, Berl Robinson Jr. and Glen Boggs.
