Bernice Hamilton (1937-2007)

Bernice “Susie” Hamilton, 70, of Olive Hill passed away on Nov. 17, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Carter County, the daughter of the late William “Widge” and Ethel Spencer McGlone.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, James “Jim” Hamilton.

She was retired from the Carter County Board of Education as a teacher’s aide and secretary at Upper Tygart Elementary School. 
She attended Globe Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Kendrah Hicks.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Neal Salyers of Olive Hill, Donna and Zane Salyers of Lexington, 
Rhonda and Ron Riley of Ashland, Connie and Dale Hicks of Olive Hill and Bonnie Hamilton of Olive Hill; six grandchildren, Jared Salyers, 
Amanda Jackson, J.D. Hicks, Rachel Oney, Tyler Salyers and Morgan Callihan; three great-grandchildren, Haley White, Hunter Jackson and Callie Oney; 
two stepgrandchildren, Jerry Hicks and Tonya Lambert; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Jessie and Chloe Lambert; three brothers 
and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Geneva McGlone, Lewis and Lois McGlone and Junior and Beth McGlone; 
two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Howard McGlone and Clara Beth and Roy Claxon; and a host of nieces and nephews 
and extended family and friends who sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Eddie Porter, 
Brother Jared Salyers and Brother David Rayburn officiating. Burial will be in Olive Hill Memorial Gardens in Olive Hill.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today, after 5 p.m. Tuesday and before before services Wednesday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill.
