Kentucky GenWeb projectLeatha J. Richey, 85 MUNCIE - Leatha J. Richey, 85, died Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2004, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born November 12, 1918, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Millard and Verna "Cheeks" Mays. Mrs. Richey was a food processor for Banquet Foods for ten years. Surviving are four sons, Dannie (wife, Pearl) Thompson, Muncie, IN, Millard (wife, Carolyn) Sorrell, New Castle, IN, Gary (wife Phyllis) Sorrell, New Castle, IN, and Alan Sorrell, California; two daughters, Shirley Ann Orr, New Castle, IN, and Melanie (husband, Tommy) Owsley, New Castle, IN; two brothers, Carl (wife, Mary) Mays, Warren, Ohio, and Russell (wife, Karen) Mays, Olive Hill, KY; her sister, Phyllis Mays, Ashland, KY; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Ben Thompson, Vernon Sorrell and John Richey; her son, Mitchell Sorrell; six brothers; and one sister. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2004 at the Parson Mortuary. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday or an hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Online condolences may be submitted to the family at www.parsonmortuary.com.
