John Henry Mauk

Born – 1938

OLIVE HILL – Mr. John Henry Mauk, 69, of Olive Hill, passed away Sunday morning, September 9, at the Wurtland Nursing & Rehab Center in Greenup.

Mr. Mauk was born April 7, 1938 in Elliott County, and is a son of the late Frederick Berry and Amanda Jane Holbrook Mauk. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by eight brothers, James Mauk, Thomas Mauk, Frederick Mauk Jr., Charles Mauk, Robert Mauk, Major Mauk, Richard Mauk, and Roosevelt Mauk; three sisters, Sarah Lee Whitt, Mary Ada Whisman, and Gertrude Mauk.

He was disabled and of the Protestant faith.

John is survived by two brothers, Peter Alfred Mauk of Wurtland, and Rondal Mauk of Ashland; one sister, Ethel Anderson of Morehead; several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Graveside services were held 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, at the Mauk Family Cemetery in Elliott County, with Bro. Buris Leadingham officiating.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mauk Family Cemetery in Elliott County. Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill is in charge of arrangements.
