Earl Marshall (1922-2007)

Earl Marshall, 84, of Grayson, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 6, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following a brief illness.

Earl was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Magoffin County, Ky., a son of the late Sherman and Darkas Fletcher Marshall.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara Marshall of Grayson.

Earl was retired from the Kentucky Department of Highways. He was a member of Gregoryville Christian Church 
and a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star 
and was decorated with several other miscellaneous medals.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by a son, Terry (Maryanna) Marshall of Grayson; a daughter, Brenda Parsons of Grayson; 
two stepsons, Tally (Cathy) Harris of Grayson and Kevin Harris and his fiancee, Carla Baker, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; 
two stepdaughters, Melanie (David) Hamilton of Eaton, Ohio, and Carla (Tim) Morris of Grayson; five grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 
eight great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of family members and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Marshall will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Ron Arnett and Dick Damron. 
He will be laid to rest in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, March 7, at the funeral home.
