Kentucky GenWeb projectBanan Marcum - 1910-2007 Banan Marcum, 97, of Denton, Ky., passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 21, 2007, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Mr. Marcum was born Aug. 6, 1910, in Denton, a son of the late William and Georgie Posey Marcum. He was a coal miner and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madge Cains Marcum; and several brothers and sisters. His survivors include a son, John, and his wife, Joan Tussey Marcum, of Denton; a daughter, Joan, and her husband, Curtis Sexton, of Winchester, Ky.; four grandchildren, Michelle Parker Marcum, Brian Marcum, Tina Lewis and Sharon Summers; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Delmar Rogers and Darrell Campbell, ministers. Burial will be in Marcum Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 23, and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made to the Marcum family at malonefuneralhome.com.
