Mary Carroll - 

March 13, 1904-Dec. 29, 2002  - 

South Point - Mary E. Carroll, 98, of South Point went to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.     

The Boyd County, Ky., native was born March 13, 1904, the daughter of the late Willis Arthur and Nora Layne.     

She was the wife of the late Robert Carroll.     

She was a homemaker and a member of Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Ironton.     
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Mae Salyers and Martha 
Lipsitz; and a brother, Chester Arthur.     

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles F. And Betty Ann Carroll of South Point, Jack R. 
and Mary E. Carroll of Long Bottom and Arthur Carroll of South Point; one 
daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Glenn Finley of Franklin Furnace; three 
grandchildren, Glenn Arthur Finley, Robin Carroll and Rebecca Carroll; three 
great-granchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.     

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland, with the Rev. Jim 
Orrick officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 
p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was a daughter-in-law of Charles and Sophia May Coleman Carroll, granddaughter-in-law of John and Nancy Damron Carroll.
