Merian N. Lawhorn LAWHORN MANSFIELD -- Merian N. Lawhorn, 62, of Mansfield died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, in Medina County after a long illness. He was born April 19, 1942, in Olive Hill, Ky., to Perry Jackson and Margaret Bear Lawhorn. Merian was a U.S. Army veteran and a lifetime member of the 82nd Airborne Historical Society. He was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church. He was a musician who enjoyed Southern gospel music, and was a member of Joint Heirs. Merian was the owner and operator of Alhan Corporation. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Barbara; three sons, Bruce (Ann), James (Nicki), and Donald Lawhorn, all of Mansfield; one daughter, Lisa (Jimmy) Tackett, of Willard; three grandchildren, Bradley, Nathan, and Austin (his little buddy); five step grandchildren; three brothers, Clayton Lawhorn, Chester (Hanna) Lawhorn, all of Mansfield, and Arthur (Barbara), of Moorehead; and two close friends, Joe Henderson and Eugene Burriss. Merian was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister-in-law, Mabel Lawhorn. Friends will be received at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, after 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, from 2-4 p.m. and after 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, De. 20, 2004, at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1169 Mill Road, Mansfield, with Pastor Virgil Masters and the Reverend Clifford E. Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery with full military honors directed by the Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
