'Pops' Charles Lee Lambert

MANSFIELD -- "Pops" Charles Lee Lambert, 62, died Saturday afternoon at his home following an extended illness. 

Pops was born Sept. 28, 1944, in Olive Hill, Ky., and has lived in Mansfield most of his life. He retired after 39 years of service from Shiloh Tool & Die, having worked in the shipping and receiving department as a tow motor operator. Mr. Lambert was involved with the Coliseum Skating Rink for many years serving as a security guard, where he will be fondly remembered by all. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and coin collecting. 

Surviving are his wife, Kay Lee Lambert; a son, Charles Lee Lambert Jr. of Mansfield; a daughter, Tonya Marlene Campbell of Mansfield; a son, Bryan Eugene Lambert of Mansfield; three stepsons, Sean Skelton of Texas, Danny Skelton of Mansfield and Robert Leclair of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; a sister, Yvonne Knipp of Winterhaven, Fla.; a brother, Scottie Lambert of Mansfield; a sister, Pauline Lambert of Mansfield; a brother, Ronnie Lambert of Mansfield; and a brother, Archie Lambert of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Allie (Lawhorn) Lambert; a sister, Rosie Switzer; a brother, Donnie Lambert; another brother, Frankie Lambert; and a sister, Jackie Lawhun. 
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Brian Phillips. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
