Ray Johnson        
1924 - 2005 

Ray Johnson, 80, of Curtice, Ohio, died in his home Sunday, February 13, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. 
He was born in Carter County, KY, the son of Luther and Mabel (Fankell) Johnson on September 9, 1924 and was baptized into the Baptist faith. 


A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, he worked 19 years for Great Lakes Barge Line, then was a boilermaker with Local #85, retiring after 20 years. 


Ray enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, and working in his vegetable garden. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 


Surviving are his devoted wife of 39 years, Ada (Carder) Johnson; sons, Randy (Della) and Cole Johnson; daughter, Trina (David) Knipp; brother, 
James (Gaye) Johnson; sisters, Virginia Carter, Maxine Miller, Betty Sullivan, Orilla Maggard and Eva Nell Burchett; 3 grandchildren and 
3 great-grandchildren. 


He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Raymond and Dwight; and brother, Harlan. 


The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-9pm at Hoeflinger Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH 
and at Malone Funeral Home, 325 Malone Lane, Grayson, KY on Thursday from 5-9pm. 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00pm at the Malone Funeral Home with Lewis Davis, minister. 
Interment will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
