Glenn Edward Johnson - 1926-2007

Glenn Edward Johnson, age 80, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Carter County, Ky., passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

He was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Hitchins, Ky., a son of the late Alva and Sarah Bledsoe Johnson.

Glenn was a real estate developer, was in the motel, restaurant and service station business, was an apartment complex owner and developed shopping malls. 
He was a WWII Army veteran and was a member of the Prospect Masonic Lodge No. 714 of Indianapolis and the Scottish Rite and was a Shriner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Gene Johnson; four brothers, Clarence, Freddie, John Paul and Alva Johnson Jr.; 
and one sister, Doris Stephens.

His survivors include his wife, Ruth Phillips Johnson of Lexington; one son, Edward Bruce Johnson of Honolulu; one daughter, Glenna Jo Johnson of Lexington; 
grandson, Kevin Edward Johnson of Santa Ana, Calif.; granddaughter, Jennifer Dawn Bjeeregaard of Greenwood, Ind.; 
two sisters, Alma Whitt of Grayson, Ky., and Sattie Phillips of Paoli, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 6, 2007, at 2 p.m.at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be tonight, April 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
