Betty Richmond - 1930-2007 Betty Lou Johnson Richmond, 76, of Olive Hill, died Tuesday in Imogene Doolin Hospice Center in Huntington, W.Va. She was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Logan County, W.Va. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill. Burial will be in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today and before services Friday at the funeral home.
Betty Lou Johnson Richmond Born – 1930 OLIVE HILL – Mrs. Betty Lou Johnson Richmond, age 76, of 18114 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, August 21, at the Imogene Doolin Hospice Center in Huntington, West Vrginia. Mrs. Richmond was born August 31, 1930 in Logan County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Estell and Angie Francis Wilson Johnson. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-two years, Willard Sparks, her husband of two years, Steve Sabo and her husband of thirteen years, Marvin Richmond; one son, Leland Sparks; one brother, Ell Dee Johnson. Mrs. Richmond was a member of the Globe Christian Holiness Church and retired from the garment industries. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Willard Dean and Martha Sparks of Logan, West Virginia, Jerry Dean and Rhonda Sparks of Mud River, West Virginia; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Earl Sparks of Olive Hill, Loretta and Joseph L. Stemple, Phyllis and Howard Arnett all of Warner Robins, Georgia, Darlene and W.J. Cox of Olive Hill, Janice and Robert Buffington of Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jonathan Sparks, Jessice Sparks, Tonya Sparks and Scott Sparks; one great-granddaughter, Makayla Sparks and a host of family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m., August 24, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Dean Sparks officiating. Burial followed in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill. Scott Sparks, Jonathan Sparks, Phillip Sparks Jr., Nick Wilson, Jason Cox, Jason Sparks, David Gore, Clinton Buffington, and Phillip Sparks Sr. served as pallbearers.
