Arthur Horner

CINNAMON LAKE -- Arthur D. Horner, 75, of Cinnamon Lake, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Services will be Thursday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. Ben Roby officiating. 

Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster, where military rites will be conducted.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 5:45 p.m.

Arthur was born March 9, 1932, in Hitchins, Ky., to Frank and Maude (Terry) Horner and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. 

Following the war, Arthur married Helen Ann Cross on March 12, 1953. She survives.

He was a stationary engineer for the State of Ohio for many years and was a member of Ebenezer Masonic Lodge 33, Wooster and VFW Post 3494 in Mansfield.

Arthur loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by his wife; children, Michael Horner of Wooster and Susan (Kenneth) Steele of Cinnamon Lake; grandchildren, Michael Heimbuch, Brody Horner, Jamie, Jennifer and Michael Tippens; a brother, Roy (Loretta) Horner of Columbus; and sisters, Audrey (Harold) Fergason of Fort Walton, Fla., Zona (John) George of Dayton, Alta (Ed) Collins of Portsmouth and Cora James of South Shore, Ky.; and his dog, Teller.

Arthur was preceded in death by a sister, Ida.
