Services for Martin E. Hayes, 74, of Rt. 2, Martinsburg Rd. will be in the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky., with burial in Burton Cemetery. 

Mr. Hayes died Saturday afternoon in the Newark Convalescent and Nursing Inn. 

He was born March 6, 1900, in Lawrence County, Ky. to the late William G. and Nancy (Segraves) Hayes. 
He had been a resident of Licking County since June of this year. 

He was a retired employee of the Kentucky State Highway Dept., and was a member of the Regular Baptist Church. 
His wife, Maude (Burton) Hayes died in June. 

Surviving are six sons, William G. Hayes of Newark, H. Kenneth Hayes and Robert Hayes, both of Rt. 2 Newark, Martin Hayes Jr. of Pataskala, 
Delmus R. Hayes of Rt. 5, Newark, and Leonard Hayes of Millersport; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Stephens of Grayson, Ky.; 
and Mrs. Flora Bell Johnston of Hitchins, Ky.; three brothers, Arthur of Leon, Ky., Alfred of Grayson, Ky., and Willie of Ashland, Ky.; 
three sisters, Mrs. Cora Jackson and Mrs. Stella Hall, both of Hitchins, Ky., and Mrs. Lena Fyffe of Rt. 2, Thornville; 
19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

There are no local calling hours. Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
