AGED CITIZEN PASSES AWAY

"Upper Tygart and Carter County lost a valuable citizen this week when Mr. George Hamilton, born July 12, 1860, died January 12, 1936,
at the age of 75 years, 7 months, at his home at Upper Tygart, where he was born and reared.

He was united in marriage to Miss Rachel Hinton, March 20, 1884, who survives him. To this union were born three children;
one son preceded him in death several years ago, and two daughters, Mrs. Willard Bowen of Haldeman, Ky.,
and Mrs Maynard Thompson of Eadston, Ky., besides several grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Hamilton was one of the county's most highly respected citizens, and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
He was honest, upright and spent his time attending to his own business and letting the other fellow's alone,
always extending a helping hand to those in need. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed in the community.

The funeral services were conducted at the church in charge of Rev. Dr. G. H. Fern, in charge of local undertaker C. W. Henderson.
Tuesday, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery by the side of his son."
