Joshua James Griffith - 1986-2007

Joshua Griffith, 20, of Grayson, known as “Big Daddy” to his friends, passed away Monday, May 28, from injuries he received in an automobile accident.

Joshua was born Oct. 31, 1986, a son of Jim and Kateena Kelly Griffith of Grayson. He was a former employee of Long John Silver’s in Grayson and Webb Erection and was currently employed with his uncle, Danny Kelly, at Quality Living Mobile Homes in Barboursville, W.Va.

Josh was a big-hearted free spirt and special friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two brothers, Jeremy Ryan Griffith and Joseph Samuel Griffith, both at home; his grandparents, Danny and Shirley Kelly of Grayson and Kathy Willis of Ashland; his great-grandmother, Katherine Swanagan of Grayson; his great-grandfather, Gilliam Harris of Indiana; his aunts and uncles, Danny and Tina Kelly of Barboursville, Troy and Kim Savage of Hitchins, Charles Griffith and Nathaniel Willis, both of Ashland, and Patty Banfield of Cannonsburg; his four cousins, Jonathon Martin, Austin Kelly, Kaitlyn and Kamiryn Savage; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Noma Harris, and his great-grandfather, Ray Swanagan.

Funeral services for Josh will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Hitchins Freewill Baptist Church by Keith Hill. Burial will be in Cribbs Hill Cemetery in Grayson.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 30, at the church.

Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson is in charge of arrangements.
