1931 – 2007 


William Jackson (Jack) Floyd, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, following an accident. 

Jack was born on May 28, 1931, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Oscar Floyd and the late Loraine Jackson Floyd. 

He was a retired electrician, a member of Local IBEW. He was, most recently, employed at Farmers Hardware, in Grayson. 

Jack was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. He served in the US Army, attaining the rank of SFC (T). He was awarded - “CIB”, “KSM w/2 Bz Camp Strs”, the UN Service Medal, and the PURPLE HEART, w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster. 

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Bob) Floyd; his sister-in-law Orilla (Billie) Floyd; uncle and aunt, Elwood and Alma Jackson; nephews, Jeff (Lesa) Floyd, Kevin (Diane) Floyd, and Keith (Heidi) Floyd; many cousins and special friends, Francis and Pam Nash. His memory will be treasured by his loving family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by parents and his wife, Effie Banks Floyd. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 1:00 PM, at Sparks Funeral Home, Grayson, Kentucky 

Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 6:00 – 9:00 PM, at the funeral home. 

Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
