Robert A. Flannery 1934-2007

 
FLANNERY 

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Robert ‘‘Bob’’ Allen Flannery, 72, died Jan. 31, 2007, at his residence in Melbourne, Fla., with his loving wife, Marilyn, 
at his side following an extended illness with cancer. 

Bob was born Aug. 3, 1934, in Lawton, Ky., the son of Jessie and Chester Flannery. He came to Ohio as a young man, where he lived for the next 46 years. 
He met and married the love of his life, Marilyn Long, in 1956. In September of 2006, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. 

He worked at Mullins Manufacturing and retired from Copperweld Steel in 1996. After retirement, he returned to his birthplace of Lawton, Ky., 
for the next four years. In 2002, he permanently moved to Florida. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Jessie Flannery; two brothers, Jack and Leeroy; 
and three sisters, Maxine Flannery, Betty J. Sparks and Sandra Darlene Copenhauer. 

He is survived by one brother, Kenneth (Helen) Flannery of Bazetta; three sisters, Vivian Delorse (Ray) Barnes of Howland, 
Martha ‘‘Peggy’’ (Jim) Rogers of Byesville and Louanna (George) Popescu of Champion; 
his brothers-in-law, Leeroy Sparks of Warren and Darrell Copenhauer of Texas. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly. 

Services were handled by Florida Memorial of Melbourne, Fla.

He was a quiet spoken man who was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
