Jack J. Flanery, 71, of Rockport, died May 7, 2005 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was born in Olive Hill, KY, a son of the late Clyde and Eva Collins Flannery.
Jack retired from DuPont after more than 33 years service. He pastored the Sams Creek Baptist Church for 5 years in the late 70's and retired as Pastor of the Pond Creek Baptist Church, and was currently serving as interim minister. Jack was a U. S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Virginia "Ginnie" Sprout Flanery, 3 sons and daughters-in-law: David and Kimberly Flanery of Rockport, Brian and Karen Flanery of Vienna and Mark and Miste Flanery of Grafton, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Dodie and Roger Francis of Mineral Wells and Debbie and John Deem of Mineral Wells, 3 brothers: Jim Flannery of Coolville, OH, Don Flanery and his wife Alicia of Petroleum and Ron Flannery and his wife Paula of Mineral Wells, 3 sisters: Emma Kelley and her husband Jimmy of Parkersburg, Linda Lyons and her husband Kermit of Parkersburg and Floretta Long and her husband Charles of Washington and 9 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, Pastor Marvin Sallee officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 PM.
