GREENUP--Joshua Erwin, 76, of South Shore, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Huntington, W. Va., 
following a long illness.

Mr. Erwin was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Carter County, a son of the late Jack and Lou Ann Dailey Erwin.

He was a WW II Army veteran, a retired carpenter, a Kentucky colonel and a member of Carpenters Local 437 in Ashland.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dollie Newsom Erwin; a son, James Erwin of Shelby, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Bailey of South Shore, 
Miss Lena Mae Erwin of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Thomasena Blankenship of Columbus, Miss.; a brother, Elmer Erwin of Mansfield, Ohio; 
a sister, Mrs. Mallie Plymail of Peebles, Ohio, 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted on Friday at the Roberson Funearl Home in South Shore by the Rev. Harley Johnson and Bill Hayden, minister. 
Burial will be in Erwin Cemetery at Olive Hill.

A military graveside service was conducted by members of James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276.
