SPRINGFIELD (OH) NEWS-SUN 5/24/06

Homer Erwin, 79, of Springfield (OH) died unexpectedly May 23, 2006 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born February 22, 1927 in Carter County, KY, 
the son of Luther and Madaline (Rodgers) Erwin. 

Mr. Erwin served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from O.S. Kelly as a foundry foreman in 1989. 
Homer was a sportsman and an outdoorsman and was a Founding Member and Life Member of Clark County Coonhunters and belonged to the 
Northwest Water Race Association (for coondogs). 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years Maxine (Dunham) Erwin of Springfield; three sons and daughters-in-law Doug and Shirley Erwin of Urbana (OH), 
Kevin and Tammy Erwin of Norton, OH and Mike and Julie Erwin of Springfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllisgale 
and Floyd Richardson of Kettering, OH, Louella and Jay Messer of Olive Hill, KY; eleven grandchildren Missy Phillips, Matt, Nikki, David, 
Jennifer, Justin, Katie, Ashley, Lindsey and Amanda Erwin and Elisha Hamer; two great grandchildren Alainey Karg and Conner Bostic; 
several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a brother Edward Erwin and a sister Emogene Burton. 

The family will receive visitors May 25, 2006 from 6-8 pm in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. 
Funeral services will be held May 26, 2006 at 11am in the Memorial Home with Pastor Norman Hayes, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
