Kentucky GenWeb projectElla Craycraft Ashland Daily Independent April 1980 Mrs. Ella Craycraft, 95, of 2305 Summitt St. (Ashland, KY) died at 4:40PM Saturday in King's Daughters Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Craycraft was born May 6, 1884 in Carter County, a daughter of the late Marion and Angela Adkins Dowdy. Her husband, John, died in 1963. She attended the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Paul H. of Ashland; Mrs. James Little (Lillian) and Mrs. Willie Hughes (Alma), both of Ashland, Mrs. Harry Hunt (Marie) of Portsmouth, Ohio, Mrs. Curtis Haney (Thelma) of New Boston, Ohio, and Mrs. Tracy Abbott (Carrie) of West Union, Ohio; a brother, Stanton Dowdy of South Shore; a sister, Mrs. Emma Beady of South Shore; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The body is at the John Steen Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
