Francis N. 'Shakey' Delaney

MANSFIELD -- Francis N. "Shakey" Delaney, 68, died Friday, June 4, 2004, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a long illness. 

He was born October 17, 1935, in Olive Hill, Kentucky to Charles Grant and Norma Jane (Gearhart) Delaney. Although he was a Mansfield area resident most of his life, Shakey loved to travel to Kentucky and West Virginia. Until his retirement, he was employed at Ohio Brass Company. 

He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Butcher) Delaney; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Delaney of Mansfield; two stepsons, Robert Butcher and Jeffrey Sonnie, both of Illinois; two stepdaughters, Pamela Sue Coulter of Butler and Lori Sonnie of Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles David Delaney of Arizona, Frederick Larry Delaney and Thomas Delaney, both of Mansfield, Ben Richard Delaney of Shelby; and a sister, Lynda Westmoreland of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Norma Delaney and son, David Lee Delaney. 

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday, June 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Rich Rader. Burial will follow in Ontario Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
