William "Hoard" Counts, 82 of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday, June 27, at his home, following an extended illness. 


He was born in Carter County, December 1, 1924, a son of the late Morton Counts and Georgia Willis Counts. 

He was the husband of the late Georgia Wells Counts. He worked for C & O Railroad for 33 years and was of the Baptist Faith. 


He is survived by his 3 daughters; Ann Kiser of Olive Hill, Kay Counts of Grayson and Sherry Counts Carroll also of Olive Hill, 
his 12 Grandchildren and his 4 sisters; Clarice Claxon, Dixie Everman, Dorothy Knipp, all of Grayson and Betty Vincent of Ashland. 


In addition to his parents and wife Georgia, he was preceded in death by his 2 sons, Meardith and Hoard Jr., 
his great-grandson Justin Stewart and his 3 brothers; Norman, George and Cecil Counts. 


Funeral services for Mr. Counts will be conducted on Saturday, June 30th, at 1:00pm, at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. 
He will be laid to rest in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. 
Friends may call between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm, Friday, June 29th, at the funeral home.
