Edgar Stearl Clay

Born – 1933

OLIVE HILL – Mr. Edgar Stearl Clay, age 74, of 1189 Biggs Branch Road, Olive Hill, passed away Friday morning, June 8, at his residence.

Mr. Clay was born January 26, 1933 in Carter County, and was a son of the late Stephen Douglas and Letha King Clay.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Douglas Stephen Clay; one brother, James Clay; 
one sister, Deloris Lykins; two granddaughters, Dawn Marlene Flickinger and Kimberly Elliott.

Mr. Clay was retired from Empire Detroit Steel in Mansfield, Ohio and of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, fifty-four years, Hazlen Crank Clay; one son, Larry Gene Clay of Carter City; 
two daughters, Marsue Ellis of Palmetto, Florida and Dale Hoit of Tolesboro; one brother, Bernice Hearl Clay of Shiloh, Ohio; 
four sisters, Inez Bloomfield of Mansfield, Ohio, Rebecca Cool of Ashland, Ohio, Barbara Thompson of Morehead, and LeAnn Clay of Greenup; 
thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m., June 11, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Ray Glover officiating. 
Burial followed in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Rex Clay, Chris Littleton, Shawn Clay, Stephen Clay, Mike Flickinger and Randy Cool served as Pallbearers.
