John Carroll, 83, Retired Farmer, Dies In Carter - 

John M. Carroll, 83, Mayhew Flats, a retired farmer, died Monday in King's Daughters' Hospital in Ashland.     

He was born Nov. 20, 1886, in Carter County, a son of the late 
Luke and Millie Sexton Carroll, and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.     

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nancy Sturgill Carroll, five 
daughters, Mrs. E. C. Johnson of Logan, Mrs. Emma Walker of Trenton, O., Mrs. 
Gladys Wade of Butchel, O., Mrs. Ida O'Malley of Cleveland, Tex., and Mrs. 
Alma Nipp of Grayson; a son, Roy Carroll of Mansfield, O.; four sisters, Mrs. 
Dovie Maddox, Portsmouth, Mrs. Effie Cox of Pedro, O., Mrs. Rachel Hicks of 
Wellston, O., and Mrs. Alice Back of Grayson; five brothers, Jeff, of 
Portsmouth, Jjerry, of Mansfield, George, of Jackson, O., Luke, of Goshen, 
Ind., and Glen Carroll of Crestline, O.      

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Satterly-Phillips Funeral Home, Grayson, by 
the Rev. Everett Seagraves. Burial will be in Carter County Memory Gardens at Grayson.     

The body is at Satterly-Phillips Funeral Home.
