Bellville - 

Jeff Carroll, 78, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Saturday night, 
June 29, 1996, in the Algire Road home of his daughter after a long illness.     
He was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Carter county, Ky., to Curtiss and Maude Stevens 
Carroll, living in Richland County most of his life before moving to Vanceburg in 1977.     

He was retired from Galion Iron Works in 1976 after 14 years of 
service, and previously worked 14 years at Westinghouse in Mansfield.     

He was a minister of the Baptist faith and a member of Smith Creek, Ky., 
Christian Holiness Church.     

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Willie and Diana Carroll of Olive Hill, Ky.; a daughter and son-in-law, Wilma 
and Jerry Bostic of Bellville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 
two step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-
in-law, Nancy "Susie" and John Atkinson of Mansfield; and two brothers and a 
sister-in-law, Marion Carroll and Marvin and Pansy Carroll, all of Crestline.     
He was preceded in death on Nov. 10, 1995, by his wife, Ruth Carroll; a 
daughter, Betty Lou Carroll; two sisters, Maggie Carroll and Jewell Stamper; 
three brothers, Rollen, Stanley and Wattie Carroll;  and a grandson, Paul Carroll.     

Calling hours will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Dickerson 
Funeral Home, 205 Second St., Vanceburg. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 
at 1 p.m. at the Smith Creek Christian Holiness Church. Burial will be in 
Carroll Cemetery, Grayson, Ky.     

Snyder Funeral Home in Bellville is in charge of local arrangements.
