Vernon Dale Capps - 1932-2007
Vernon Dale Capps, 74, of Ashland, Ky., husband of Mary Steele Capps, died Wednesday evening in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Dale was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Pilot Knob, Mo., a son of the late Ratus D’Vernon Capps and Evelyn Jackson Capps Bolner of Flatwoods, Ky.
He was a former diabetic shoe salesman and a salesman with Big Sandy Furniture.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are two stepsons, Earl Childers of Texas and Danny Childers of Olive Hill, Ky.;
a stepdaughter, Sherry Hale of Sandy Hook, Ky.; a brother, Bob Bishop of North Carolina; a sister, Raylene Sadler of Huntington, W.Va.;
12 stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Family Cemetery in Grayson, Ky.
Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
