Mildred Blevins
1956-2003
Mildred Blevins, 47, of Carlisle, Ky., a native of Flatwoods, Ky., passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in Johnson-Mathers Health Care in Carlisle, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Mildred was born Feb. 18, 1956, in Flatwoods. She was a daughter of Phebie Dillow Bush of Mount Sterling, Ky., and the late William Bush.
Mildred was a licensed practical nurse for 13 years, in which time, she touched many, many people. She was of the Baptist faith and lived a good Christian life.
She is also survived by her husband, Terry Blevins of Carlisle; a son, John Sauer, and a stepdaughter, Terry Mackenzie Blevins, both of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Catherine Sauer and Bethany Cruz; five sisters, Jean Griffith of Grayson, Ky., Sharon Stevens and Martha Parsons, both of Westwood, Ky., Sue Castle of Flatwoods and Barbara Kite of Alabama; and a host of friends whom she touched and was touched by.
Services will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Walter Meyer. Burial will be in Bush Family Cemetery in Wurtland, Ky.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mildred will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
