Larry Burke - 1939-2007

Larry Burke, a precious child of God, rests peacefully in his Savior’s open arms following his homecoming on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, 
from Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was 68 years of age.

Mr. Burke was born June 12, 1939, in Carter County, a son of the late William Earl and Thelma Hutchinson Burke. 

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Sue Fannin and Carrie Francis.

Larry was a self-employed laborer for many years and gave wonderful care to family and shut-ins. He was a member of Ross Chapel.

Surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Burke and his wife, Juanita, of Louisa, Ed Burke, his wife, Bea, of Flatwoods 
and Jack Burke and his wife, Kathy, of Rush; many nieces and nephews, including special nieces Becky Thomas and Jackie McDowell; 
a special great-nephew, Anthony Thomas; and a host of close friends and neighbors at Scope Towers, to whom he will forever be a comedian.

A funeral service for Larry Burke will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Ross Chapel in Rush. 
Pastor Dale Henson will offer words of comfort and reassurance and Elder Jimmy Coffee will give a personal eulogy. 
Interment will be in Ross Cemetery in Rush. 

Those wishing to call on the Burke family may do so between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. today at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg.
