Lorene Brown Campbell - 1906-2007

Lorene Brown Campbell, 101, of Grayson, Ky., formerly of Oldtown, Ky., died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007 in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

Mrs. Campbell was born March 27, 1906, in Oldtown, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Margaret Elizabeth Lemaster Brown. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo B. Campbell. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Geneva Campbell Gerlach; her sons, Pvt. First Class Virgil Campbell, Master sergeant Alonzo B. Campbell Jr. and Pvt. First Class Mason Matthew Campbell; a brother, Leslie Brown; and two grandchildren, Gallihue Grant Campbell and Patricia Ann Campbell.

Mrs. Campbell was of the Jehovah Witness faith and a homemaker.

Surviving Lorene are her daughters, Darlene Campbell Harris and her husband, Ike of Russell, Ky., Loretta Campbell Miller of Louisville, Ky., and Margaret Campbell Fannin and her husband, J.T. of Raceland, Ky.; her son, Larry T. Campbell of Grayson; her brother, Kenneth Brown of Oldtown; her sisters, Myrtle Early of Portsmouth, Ohio and Dexter Counts of Grayson; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be by the Rev. Jack E. Edwards at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at James A. Music Funeral Home, 224 Main St., Greenup, Ky., with visiting hours from 6 to 9 tonight and from noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery-North Fork, Greenup.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
