Christine Brammell Pope Crisp (1911-2007) 

Christine Crisp, 96 of Grayson, passed away Saturday morning at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland after an extended illness. 

She was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Edward Samuel Brammell and the late LuLu Vincent Brammell. 

Mrs. Crisp was a retired teacher, beginning her career in a one-room school building in Fultz. She retired, ending her career, from Lawton School, 
where she had served as librarian. She attended Wolf Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 227, Morehead 
and the Carter County Retired Teachers Association. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husbands, Frank Pope and Jeff Crisp, and one son, Robert “Bob” Pope. 

Mrs. Crisp is survived by one sister, Lorraine Criswell; three grandchildren, Vicki (Dan) Boster, Belinda (Woody) Burchett and Denise (Jim) Burnett, 
all of Grayson; three great-grandchildren, Robert Hignite, Stacy Burchett and Treva Burnett Flannery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carter Nursing and Rehab Center, Activity Fund, c/o Gay Clevenger, 250 McDavid Blvd., Grayson, KY 41143.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Roger Rankin, minister. 
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. until the time of the service. 

Burial will be in Grayson Memorial Park.
