Chester 'Pap' Blevins

MANSFIELD -- Chester "Pap" Blevins, 81, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at home after a long illness. 

Born January 27, 1924, in Grahn, Kentucky, he was the son of Oscar and Virgia Stapleton Blevins. 

He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church. Mr. Blevins retired from Westinghouse. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. 

He enjoyed field trials, gun trading, dog races and turkey shoots. A people person who loved his family, Mr. Blevins loved to play the banjo and the harmonica. 

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anna "Susie" Bledsoe Blevins of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald C. and Connie Blevins of Mansfield and Marshall D. and Patience McFarland of Shelby; six grandchildren, Ronald A. and Kara Blevins of Mansfield, Jason and Angela Dean of Denver, Colorado, Darrin L. and Deb Billotte of Georgia, Rodney and Dawn Kline of Butler, Erin and Nate Bevens of Michigan, and Kara McFarland of Shelby; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Mosier of Kentucky and Ruby Holbrook of Mansfield; one brother, Joe Blevins of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Billotte; his parents; four brothers and two sisters. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with the ministry being handled by Don Stallard and Argus Carroll. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
