Thelma Davis (1913-2007 )

Mrs. Thelma Barker Davis, 94, of Olive Hill, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, Nov. 12, 2007, at her residence. 

She was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late James H. and Lillie Sparks Barker. 

Thelma was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a Christian and a member of 
Garvin Ridge Church for more than 60 years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Charlie Davis; a son, John Paul Davis; a daughter, Doris Jean Buckler; 
a grandson, Joel Stamper; a son-in-law, W.F. Burge; brothers James H. Barker and Paul R. Barker and an infant brother; and a sister, Ada Barker. 

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Elaine Davis of Nellysford, Va.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joyce 
and Carl Stapleton of Grayson, Ky., Janet and Quentis Stamper of Lucas, Ohio, and Dottie Burge and Gayle and John Parson, all of Olive Hill; 
17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Bill Buckler of Mansfield, Ohio; 
a daughter-in-law, Vicki Bond of Olive Hill; a brother, Kenneth Dean of Cleveland; two sisters, Coleen Mauk of Youngstown, Ohio, 
and Dorothy Brickhouse of Norfork, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will sadly miss her. 

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill by Brother J.C. Bond. 
Burial will be in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today and before services Thursday at the funeral home. 

Donnie Stapleton, Billy W. Buckler, Jason Parson, Doug Stapleton, Jeff Burge, John Derek Davis, Ryan Stamper and Mike Burge will serve as pallbearers.
