MANSFIELD -- Earl D. Ash, 68, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. 

Earl was born May 17, 1937, in Olive Hill, Ky., living in the Mansfield area since 1956. He was the son of the late Preston M. and Nancy E. Knipp Ash. 

Earl was a self-employed mason and later worked as a kiln fireman for Richland Shale and Brick. He was a member of Taylortown Community Church. 

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Lynn Ash in September 2004; and many brothers and sisters. 

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Janice C. Burton Ash; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Michelle Ash, Preston "Bub" and Billie Jean Ash, 
all of Mansfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Douglas Oakley, Leisha "Lisa" and Danny Rogers, all of Mansfield; 14 grandchildren; 
seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Nola Ash of Mansfield; sisters ,Vivian Lowe and Bertha Peyton, both of Mansfield; 
stepbrother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Jenny Mae Ash of Carter, Ky.; and stepsister and brother-in-law, Helen and Junior Smith of Vanburg, Ky. 

Funeral services celebrating Earl's homegoing will be Friday, 11 a.m. at Taylortown Community Church, 2656 Taylortown Road, 
conducted by Pastor O. Douglas Tackett. Burial will be at Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call 
at Finefrock-Williams Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave., Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
