Welcome To Caldwell Co Ky

Newsom Cemetery is located in the south/eastern section of Caldwell County on Hwy 91, approximately 2 miles from the Caldwell/Christian county line. Map

There were hundreds of very active ant hills in the cemetery the day I took these. In some cases they had partially covered a flat stone or had dirt mounded up around the base of a stone [examples: 082]. I did not disturb these ants so there are a few things that are not clear. I have done my best to read the info on the photos but some of the old stones were almost impossible to read. I have made a best guess on these and you will want to verify the info in other ways. There are also a lot of unmarked graves or graves marked only with a rock with nothing on it, or with sandstone markers so faded they can no longer be read. I have included numerous photos of each of the areas of the cemetery so you can get a 'feel' of each burial site listed.

I will not be returning to the cemetery to obtain better photos or try to read the dates better. I'll be glad to make any corrections you send me however, and of course will add you to the researcher column if requested.
