NOTE: Because this page is currently under construction, the buttons to the left are not working. Be patient. I would rather get the Boone County site changes completed before working on my own genealogy. Check back soon.

My name is Carol Osborne and I am the County Coordinator for the Boone County KYGenWeb site.

I have been a resident of Boone County since 1973 and live near the Scheben Library. My husband and I have been married for 34 years and we have 3 children. I moved to the Union area from Ludlow, Kenton County, Kentucky where I resided for 18 years.

My father, Howard Griffith, now lives only 1 mile from his Great Grandfather's home in Richwood. John W. Griffith (b. 15 Apr 1801 in Pennsylvania) was an early pioneer of Boone County and owned the property across from the Richwood Depot on the south side of old Lexington Pike and US 25 (now Richwood Road and US 25). He married two women: first was Frances "Fannie" Glore (Clore, dau. of Michael Clore) and the second was Elizabeth Carpenter, youngest child of Rev. William Carpenter. John and Elizabeth are buried in the Rev. William Carpenter Cemetery on Circle Drive in Florence. The Griffith family members were Merchants, Farmers, Real Estate agents and Bankers in the city of Walton. The surnames connected to this family are: Finnell, Sleet, Anderson, Van Meter, Skinner, Bloom, Moore, Jackson (two separate lines), Kopple, and Ryle, just to name a few. It's been quoted that I must be related to almost everyone in Boone County. I think there are quite a few of us that can claim that! Please check my links to the left for my ancestral history. I would love to hear from anyone finding a connection to my line.

I have a few ideas for this site, but I will need input from everyone. Email me and let me know what you would like to see on your website. Anyone who wishes to contribute new material, photos etc., please let me know. You may reach me by email at anytime...
