The following is taken from Cemeteries in Sumner County, Kansas by Harvey and Ruth Swan (1983).
"Mrs. Paul Kerns grave, Downs Twnsp, R2W, T33, Sec 29, NW corner of NW 1/4. Location from Perth: 3W, 1S.
This Mrs. Kerns was the first wife of Paul Kerns. It is believed she passed away in the early 1870's before a cemetery had been established in that area, so she was buried along a creek about 150 yards south of the road."
