2003 - Fall Newsletter - 2003

We want everyone to know about the things that have been, and are, going on with our Parker Conmunity Historical Society.

The Annual Meeting will be held on November 15, 2003, which is the third Tuesday of the month. This meeting will be held at 207 West Main, Parker, Kansas, starting at 7:30 p.m. We will have the election of Board of Directors; projects for 2004 discussed and etc. Come join us - you are welcome.

Following the Annual Meeting, the regular monthly meeting will be held. The Society Officers will be elected. There will not be a December meeting.

Annual Dues for the year of November 1, 2003 thru October 31, 2004 are now due. Single Membership is $5.00 per person and a LIFETIME membership is $50.00. Checks may be made payable to PCHS.

The project of getting a heating system in the museum at 207 West Main has been completed. We are very pleased to get it installed. THANKS, many thanks, to all who helped with their donations and time. Now the temporary electric heaters can be put away. After three work-days, the items were returned to the office in a more organized manner, the quilt rehung, and the three buildings cleaned for the Parker Harvest Fest.

On September 20, the museum buildings were 'open' from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Forty (40) visitors signed our "Registration" book. Of course, there were some who failed to 'sign-in'. All in all, it was a good day. We appreciate everyone who stopped by.

Shirley Quisenberry Osborn, PRHS Class of '55, is collecting registered nurses pictures of PRHS graduates. She would like a photo (preferably in uniform), name of nursing school, and year of graduation from nursing school. They will be compiled and placed in the "MEDICAL CORNER" of the museum. Please send to Shirley Osborn, 24314 KS Hwy 7, Fontana, KS 66026. Please send by January 1, 2004. Thanks!

John & Osee Riggs, Velda Lemon, Eugene & Marjorie Prentice, Helen Haverfield, Wayne & Shirley Osborn, Glenn Kerr, Janice Stahl, Ken & Sandy Prentice, and Cheryl Erwin send their BEST WISHES FOR A THANKFUL, WONDERFUL, AND JOYOUS HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!!!
