Once again it is time for the Annual Meeting of the Parker Community Historical Society. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at 7:30 p.m. at 207 West Main Street, Parker, Kansas. Election of Board Of Dlrectors and Society Officers will be held. Come and join us, we promise not to give you a job or office. We need new faces, blood and input, butmnost of all we need You. Remember this is a COMMUNITY Historical Society and Museum.

The regular scheduled monthly meetings are held on the Third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the above address. No meeting is held in December as there is just so much activity around the Christmas holiday.

ANNUAL DUES from November 1, 2002 to October 31, 2003 is now due. SINGLE membership is $5.00 per person, while LIFETIME membership is $50.00. Checks may be made payable to P.C.H.S.

The society's on-going project of improving the original museum has progressed well beyond our dreams when we set out to re-roof the south half. We are proud to announce that the north half also has a new roof. And was also able to replace the outside tin siding. The color is 'barn yard red' and very close to the second museum building and it looks very sharp. Come and see the finished proJoct that you helped to finance. A big "THANK YUU" to all the contributors.

The Wall Display Quilt Rack that was given away at the Alumni Banquet, won by Juanita Holdernan, was a good success. Thanks for your participation.

The Society's first community breakfast held at the United Methodist Church was well attended and successful. We appreciate all of those who joined us and ate well. Hope to see you at the next one.

The bake sale on Parker's City Wide Garage Sale day left much to be Desired. Several other communities, close by, held a sale the same day. Shoppers to Parker were few and far between.

Five large boxes of veterinary books and journals was donatedated to the museum by LaVern Harold, Class of '39. The oldest journal dates back to 1929. Thanks, LaVern.

Out of state visitors this summer included LeRoy and Sandra Ravine of Alaska. Her great-grandfather founded Goodrich; Glen and Betty, Sun City, Arizona, looking for information on his father and grandfather; and Walter and Jane Harper, Ft. Collins, Colorado, regarding William Harper and Bettie Chew Harper Stites.

During special occassions the number of registered visitors at the museums was: Alumni Saturday - 36; Memorial Weekend - 30; and Parker Harvest Saturday -59. Thanks for stopping by and seeing whats in the museum. Graduation pictures are always a big interest.

Showcases! Showcases! Showcases! We are in need of more cases. If you have one or know where there may be some, please advise an officer of the Society.
