The Annual Meeting of the Parker Community Historical Society will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at 7:30 p.m., 207 West Main, Parker, Kansas.

Election of Board of Directors and Society officers will be held during this meeting. We have just completed twenty years (20) of operations. Three items were made available to celebrate; schoolhouse magnet, '2000' pens, and picture of United Methodist Church-1917. We welcome anyone in the community to attend and participate.

Monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., except for the month of December (everyone is so busy) NO MEETING. Ccme join us and help keep the museums active in Parker.

The 2000-2001 Membership Dues are now due: Single person $2.50, Couples - $4.00 and Lifetime - $35.OO each. Our year begins November 1 and runs through October 31. Checks may be made payable to P.C.H.S.

Six new lifetime members were received this past year. Thanks.

Due to the implementation in the near future of 911 addresses in Linn County, it became necessary for PCHS to establish a deliverable address. The NEV MAILING ADDRESS is P.O. BOX 173, PARKER, KANSAS 66072. All communications should now be sent to this address.

Some of the items that have been donated or loaned to the museum lately are: P.R.H.S. cheerleader skirt, "History of Kansas Newspapers" book, Home-made baby bed, and cream separator.

Our apology goes out to Otto Alexander for failing to mention in past newsletters of receiving the 'Alexander Car' made by him and his son, Clyde. It certainly is a great addition to the Old Museum. Thanks, Otto. Also a correction to the last newsletter, we received 'horse-shoes', not house shoes.

Over 500 pages of The Parker Message have been laminated and integrated into existing binders. Janice Stahl and Cheryl Erwin spent about nine hours laminating at Parker Elementary School. Thanks to the school for material and the use of their machine. Cheryl spent lots and lots of hours trimming and integrating the papers. We now have a nice collection of papers. Thanks girls.

Our thanks to Marvin Ross and Wilma Scoville Glass for responding to our request for experiences in a one-room schoolhouse. You deserve an "A+". We'd still like to hear from other teachers and students.

P.C.H.S. had a float in the Parker Harvest Fest, September 16. The theme was "Doin' the New Century Rock". We loaded our antique rocking-chairs aboard the trailer and just rocked along. Also this year we sponsored Cynthia Schade as a 'Sweetheart' canidate. She was also on the float. Thanks to everyone who helped in preparing the float and those who rode. Thanks to Bill White, our driver, along with Doris Satchell for the use of the trailer.
