The Union Cemetery, located east of Emporia, Kansas, 2 miles north of I-35 on Road U between Road 190 and Road 200. It is in Section 35, Township 18 (Jackson Township), Range 12. Union School House used to stand just to the north of the cemetery.
The first burial was Finney H. Hall who was buried January 9, 1889. The 1878 Atlas of Lyon County, Kansas shows that F. Hotzel, H. W. Hawkins, A. Robinson and a Watterman (this name is spelled Waterman on a stone here) and an Eldridge lived in this area.
