Anderson, John A., jr. died Jan. 12 of diphtheria; only child of M/M J. B. Anderson; body removed to Manhattan for burial

Campbell, Benjamin Franklin died Jan. 1, 1892 in Washington, PA; born in Waynesburg, PA on May 6, 1829; captain of Co. A, 163 Reg., 18th PA Cav. during the war; survived by his wife and son, Henry, both of Clay Center, a sister, Caroline Flenniken, of Clay Center, and two brothers, Rufus and William

Boman, Mrs. died Jan. 15 of lagrippe; remains taken to St. Joseph, MO for burial

Draper, Isaac died Jan. 17 of heart trouble; buried Timber Creek cemetery

Pierce, Mrs. Mary A died Jan. 18; lived in Clay Co. for 30 years; died of accidental fall, aggravated by cancer; mother of Charley Pierce; aged 92 years

Petermeyer, Fredrick died Jan. 30 of malarial fever in Bloom Twp. aged 71 years

Wright, M. C. died Jan. 29 of lagrippe in CC

Lloyd, T. S. died Feb. 4 at his home a few miles north of Green

Dexter, Aaron died Feb. 17 at his home of a carbunkle on his neck; born May 23, 1830 in Windsor Co., VT; married Martha Graham on Oct. 1, 1856 in Waterford, ME; four children--Arthur, died at 3 months, Rena now Mrs. E. H. Swenson, Jennie now Mrs. James Crabb, and Alice now Mrs. George Murphy; came to Clay Co. in Oct. 1863 and with his brothers John and A.F. founded the city of Clay Center

Gilbert, Charles A. died Feb. 14 in Green of lagrippe; born Feb. 24, 1855 in Groton, CT; came to Kansas in 1872; married Hattie Gilbert on May 5, 1877; survived by wife and three sons

Holcomb, Hattie Paulina died Feb. 28 after a short illness; d/o Rev. H. Holcomb; aged 5 years

Householder, Daniel died Feb. 28 of scarlet fever at Idana; son of Daniel Householder; aged 6 years

Morgan, Mrs. K.A.D. died Feb. 25 at her home in CC; survived by husband, sons H. W. and C. C. both of CC, B. F. of Riley and Henry J. of Mitchellville, IA; body removed to Pella, Ia for burial

Timmons, Caroline. died Feb. 23 of blood poisoning at her home in Idana; born Highland Co., OH on Feb. 13, 1863 to M/M Martin Babb; married W. C. Timmons on Feb. 13, 1889; burial Bloom cemetery

Carr, Ella Linnell died March 14 in CC of consumption; born in CC 16 years and 8 months ago

Stewart, Levi died Mar. 12 at his home near Green of lagrippe and pneumonia



Mar. 24, 1892

Lavine, August died March 23 of consumption at his home a few miles north of CC; born Stockholm, Sweden Dec. 28, 1834; came to US in 1859; served as a private in Co. E, 17th Illinois Inf.; married wife in Bishop Hill, IL; came to Clay Co. in 1870; wife and two daughters survive him; burial Pleasant Hill cemetery March 25.

Lewis, Calvin C. died March 26 at him home in CC of Bright's Disease; settle in Blaine Twp. in the early 70's; lived in Miltonvale and Clyde before returning to CC recently; survived by wife, three sons and a daughter; burial Exeter cemetery

Young, Thomas M. died March 27 at his home southwest of Wakefield



April 7, 1892

Armstrong, Mrs. buried March 31 in the Sherman cemetery

Giesemann, Elmer died March 30; 10 month old son of Mrs. C. Giesemann; burial Idana cemetery

Wulpi, Helena died April 11 of pneumonia aged 7 months; d/o M/M M. Wulpi

Milligan, infant son of M/M William died March 8; buried in Hebron cemetery



April 21, 1892

Conwell, Asa Clarence died April 16 at the home of his parents in CC; born Nov. 14, 1869 in Abingdon, IL; mother died when a little child; survived by his father, stepmother and sister

Marston, Betsy died April 21 in CC; sister of John and A. F. Dexter

Stenstrom, Ester Amelia died April 15 of congestion of the brain; 15 month old daughter of M/M J. E. Stenstrom; burial Swedesburg cemetery



April 28, 1892

Adams, Mrs. G. N. died April 28 as a result of a train/buggy accident at Clifton

Alquist, two year old son of Axel and Rachel Alquist died April 23 of whooping cough

Duran, Frank L. died April 24 at his home in Blaine Twp. of Bright's Disease and pneumonia; burial Greenwood cemetery

Honey, --- 16 month daughter of M/M Honey died April 26 of whooping cough

Wilson, Robert Sr. died April 21 at his home in Garfield Twp.; born in Scotland in 1808; came to Canada with his parents at age 11; removed to Schenectady, NY in 1836 and married Mary Fryar; came to Clay in 1870 and settled on Sec. 15, Garfield Twp.; spent nine years in Chicago assisting his son J. J. in the pickle business; he and Mary had nine children six of whom survive-- J. J. and Robert of Chicago, Mrs. E. L. Billings of Crete NE, and T. F., Maria L. Wilson and Mrs. A. W. Mason of Clay County

Eustace, Evaline died April 27; three year old daughter of M/M Ed Eustace of Wakefield



May 12, 1892

Branan, Pat Monroe died May 7 of dropsy; aged 13 years, four months and 29 days; burial Hayes cemetery

Sherbert, Akin died May 7 in Grant Twp. of gangrene of the foot; born in Canada in 1812 and came to St. Albans, VT at age 15; married Olive Laflam in 1842; came to Clay Co. in 1869; preceded in death by one child; survived by wife and five children; burial Gatesville cemetery

Starkweather, Sarah Palmer died May 7 at her home in CC; born May 21, 1831 in Hopkinton, R.I. to Dr. and Mrs. Paul Greene; married J. L. Starkweather in Nov. 1855; came to Manhattan, Riley Co. in 1858; one daughter died in infancy; survived by husband, one daughter and five sons; burial Greenwood cemetery

Weiss, Louis died May 9 of whooping cough; burial Greenwood cemetery



May 19, 1892

Anderson, Anne died May 12 of pneumonia, age 2 years; burial Pleasant Hill cemetery

Heuson, infant daughter of M/M Nat Heuson died May 17 of measles; burial in Broughton

Ward, Charles W. died May 14 at his home in Morganville of catarrh of the stomach; aged 69 years; survived by wife and four sons; buried Sherman cemetery

Weible, Mrs. John died May 15 of pneumonia; survived by husband and five small children; buried in cemetery in Bloom Twp.

Creigh, Dick died May 12 in CC

Giesemann, Carolina died May 23 from the effects suffered in a runaway; widow of Fritz (died Oct. 1891) and preceded in death by son Elmer in April, she is survived by four children; aged 41 years

Hinds, infant daughter of M/M G. E. Hinds died last week in Broughton

Thompson, infant of M/M Thompson died May 20 in Garfield Twp.



June 2, 1892

Martin, Mrs. Hannah A. died June 1 in CC of heart disease; born Oct. 19, 1833 in Salem, OH; twice married; survived by husband J. S. Martin, five children and two brothers, G. M and A. Stratton, all of CC



June 9, 1892

Sparks, John drowned June 8 in the Republican river near CC; burial Exeter cemetery



June 16, 1892

Wedd, Ruth M. died June 9 of whooping cough; d/o John and Susan Wedd; aged five months

Healy, Charles died June 18; son of M/M Edgar Healy; burial Greenwood cemetery

Money, Elizabeth died June 13 in Milford of stomach cancer; burial near Industry

Randall, Miss F. died June 22 of consumption at the home of her brother, County Commissioner Randall, in Wakefield; aged 70 years

Crooks, Bennie, four year old son of M/M Fulton Crooks died June 30 of whooping cough



July 14, 1892

Bushell, Ellen died July 7 at the home of her son, four miles southwest of Green; born in Devonshire, England fifty three years ago; husband lost at sea 23 years ago; also preceded in death by three children; one son and one daughter survive her; burial at Green

Howard, Elizabeth died July 3 in Kansas City of paralysis; born in England in 1826; came to the US with her husband, Thomas Howard in 1852 settling in Illinois; came to Union Twp., Clay Co. in 1871; preceded in death by her husband in 1883; survived by six daughters and five sons, including George Howard of Exeter Twp.; burial in Greenwood cemetery

Robinson, Homer A. died July 12 at his home in Exeter Twp. of blood poisoning; born Sept. 16, 1847 in Mercer Co., PA; moved to Louisa Co., IA with his parents at age 10; served 25th IA Inf. during the war and wounded at Battle of Bentonville; came to Kansas in 1869; married Mary McGinnis in 1872; preceded in death by his wife in 1882; survived by three children, Nellie, Lee and William N.; burial Hebron cemetery

Lewis, Frank died Sept. 11 of malarial fever at the home of his mother in CC; born May 7, 1870 in New York; came to Blaine Twp. with his parents as a child where he lived except for six years in Cloud Co.; father died last spring; burial Exeter cemetery
